Implementation of the Value of Moderation in Education: Study of Term al-Wasath in Surah al-Baqarah verse 143 with Abdullah Saeed's Contextual Hermeneutics Approach

This study aims to determine the implementation of value moderation contained in QS Al-Baqarah verse 143 world education. The is obtained from a meaning al-wasath verse. was conducted using term thematic method with Contextual Hermeneutics approach initiated by Abdullah Saeed. Namely, capturing messages and teachings Qur'an considering historical context text application text. found that, 1) state middle, worldview life hereafter physical spiritual behavior, not act extreme radical ways, 2) historically, al -Baqarah: used express moderate attitude farmer who thinks well crop failure he has experienced, this shows tolerant towards various differences that occur life, 3) values education can be done several approaches, namely instilling approach, cognitive moral development analysis clarification learning do approach.
